Act I  ·  The programme

Everything your show already knows it needs.

Five tools, one app. Built so directors stop chasing replies, teachers stop printing call sheets, and cast can find the right page on the bus home.

Running time · about six minutes, with no intermission
Scene I Roughly a minute

Every call, every day, on cue.

Your show's rehearsal schedule lives in one place, with the right slot pushed to the right pocket. Cast see every rehearsal they're in; the company-wide view updates the moment you move a session, so nobody is still reading the old plan.

Push notifications go out ahead of every call, so the only thing your stage manager has to chase is the kettle.

  • Per-show schedules - cast see the rehearsals for the shows they're cast in
  • Push reminders - sent ahead of every call, to phones and tablets
  • Live updates - reschedule once, the whole company sees the change instantly
  • Location details - venue name, address and a tap-to-navigate map
  • Calm by design - one source of truth for who, where and when

Pages that turn when you need them to.

Upload a script, a vocal score, a programme draft - whatever the company is working from this week - and Limelight shares it with everyone cast in that show. Phone, tablet or downloaded for offline reading: same page, every time.

Cast can mark up their own copy privately. Highlights and notes stay on their device and against their account, so the green-room copy you've worked on is the one you open in the wings.

  • Per-show resources - scripts and scores live alongside the show they belong to
  • Private annotations - your highlights stay yours, synced to your account
  • Offline reading - download once, read on the bus, train, or long tube ride
  • Read on any phone - iOS and Android, no separate desktop required

Fagin. You've got to pick a pocket or two.
Oliver. Sir, are you serious?
Fagin. Boy, why do you think we work for free?
Dodger. (enters, carrying silk.)
Scene III Roughly a minute

The whole score, in your pocket.

Original cast recordings, rehearsal piano, vocal warm-ups, backing tracks for the bedroom run-through - whatever you upload, your cast can stream or download. Proper background playback that doesn't stop the moment they lock their phone.

No adverts, no algorithm trying to feed them lo-fi beats. Just the song they're meant to be learning, on a loop until they've nailed the run.

  • Background playback - keeps singing whether the phone is locked or in a pocket
  • A-B loop & speed control - rehearse a tricky bar at half-speed (0.5x to 1.5x)
  • Download for offline - on the train, on the school bus, in the wings
  • Original tracks & backing - whatever your show uses, in one library
  • Warm-up library - the same routines, every Tuesday, no excuses
  • Natural sorting - "Track 2" before "Track 11", as it should be

The group chat that actually knows the show.

Direct messages and a per-show whole-cast channel - organised by production, not by whoever happened to start the WhatsApp first. When a teacher adds a new cast member to a show, they're added to that show's chat automatically. No "who's still missing from the group".

Share photos from the costume fitting, or just remind the ensemble to wear black tonight. The chat knows the show, so the show knows the chat.

  • One channel per show - everyone cast in the production, in one place
  • Direct messages - one-to-one chats between cast and teachers, when needed
  • Photos in chat - costume references, blocking sketches, set photos
  • Smart membership - cast join their show's chat automatically when added
  • Powered by Stream - reliable real-time messaging under the hood

Scene V Roughly two minutes

One stage door, nothing slipping through the wings.

WhatsApp, email, Facebook Messenger, the half-dozen group chats your show has somehow sprouted - one channel quietly replaces all of them. Messages between teachers, leaders and cast run through one sanctioned, server-logged channel under the school's account.

If something ever needs looking at - a disclosure, a complaint, a query that lands on the head's desk - there is a single timestamped record to refer to, and a founder-level contact who'll help your DSL retrieve it. Safeguarding leads sleep easier; everyone else just gets on with the show.

  • One channel - replaces WhatsApp, email, Messenger and SMS for show comms
  • Server-side message log - timestamped, retained, retrievable on disclosure
  • GDPR aware - lawful basis documented, DPA and sub-processor list on request
  • Role-based access - enforced in Firestore rules, not just in the UI
  • Named contact - the founder picks up; no support-queue runaround
